What is Integrative Therapy?

Some therapies use a one-size-fits-all method. Whatever your issue, it’s the same approach. But of course, we’re all individuals, so we all need an individual approach. This is how Integrative Therapy works - combining different types of psychotherapeutic theory, skills and techniques to explore your particular difficulties.

The Integrative Therapy Process

It’s a question of learning. Learning to -

Integrative Therapy techniques can be incorporated into almost any type of therapeutic work with Adults, Children and Young People. An Integrated approach also helps when working with many psychological problems or diagnoses, such as Anxiety and Depression.

The best support for you

I use a range of different theoretical approaches to give you the best support to suit your individual need. These include –

Person-Centred Therapy – We focus on building a genuine, non-judgmental and empathic relationship – one that empowers and motives you in the therapeutic process. This therapy is highly effective in encouraging personal growth and understanding. It also increases your self-awareness and other personal insights.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – This helps you understand your thoughts and feelings that influence your behaviour. It helps you to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on your behaviour and emotions.

Transactional Analysis – A technique that helps you to reach your fullest potential in all areas of life. This is an excellent therapy for understanding and developing constructive communication in relationships.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy – This helps you explore your full range of emotions, including the ones that you might not be aware of. It focuses on recognising and expressing feelings and exploring how you relate to others. It can help you understand how your moods and behaviours are influenced by unresolved issues or feelings from your past.

Creative Solution Focused Brief Therapy – This is an effective and practical therapy that identifies problems, establishes current resources and coping strategies. It measures progress and recognises potential risk, helping you to look forward and use your strengths to achieve your goals.

"Nirmal was one of these very special people that will stay in the fore front of my heart and continued wellbeing. She gave me the strength, self belief, and tools to move forward. We tried a number of different approaches and I took something away from each session."
